We Love To Show Our Sioux City Pride

When we say “We are based here. We are best here,” we mean it. It’s something we strive to live up to every day, and our efforts are showing.

Last August, the city of Sioux City awarded our company with the Pride of Sioux City: Business Beautification Award from the Sioux City Economic Development Department. This award recognizes Sioux City employers who show pride in the appearance of their business’ property. We were nominated for our location’s patriotic summer landscaping design – complete with flower planters, flags and our luscious front lawn – and a committee of local business professionals and city staff ultimately chose us as a recipient.

When we say that we’re making our own unique changes to the pork industry, we mean it. On August 6, 2018, Mayor Bob Scott presented our award to some of our staff members at the City Council meeting. We were so honored to be nominated and to receive this award, especially since we’re a pork processing facility that has invested $8 million in sustainability. The largest part of this investment is credited to a robust waste water treatment system and air scrubbers.

“We credit our entire leadership team, maintenance team and local property management firm, The Claussen Group, for their pride in being good stewards in our community,” said Tori O’Connell, Seaboard Triumph Foods communications coordinator.

The hard work of our maintenance, property and leadership teams checked all the boxes for the award’s requirements: cleanliness, safety, creativity, signage, sense of community, accordance with city’s zoning code and overall appearance.

This award truly represents the commitment we have to the Sioux City community and capped off a brilliant first year of operation at 5555 Seaboard Triumph Parkway!

It has been just over one year since our 942,000-square-foot facility started production in September 2017. We made some huge strides, including hosting distinguished guests and donating to the community, but the best part is that we’re still not done growing! While second shift production started this month, by no means does this mean all positions are filled. We are still hiring new team members and once we’re at full capacity, we will process more than 21,000 market hogs per day.

The Pride of Sioux City: Business Beautification Award confirms our desire to grow in Sioux City and grow our presence in the community. We’re glad we’re here and we’re not done yet. If you want to be a part of this momentum, visit our careers page or stop in on a Walk-In-Wednesday and interview on-the-spot for a production job. We can’t wait to meet you!
