Seaboard Triumph Foods Welcomes New General Manager

Long before the first concrete footer was poured on our 925,000-square foot facility, we pledged to only hire the best and the brightest minds in the industry to get us off the ground, push us in the right direction, and keep us going.

Stan Scott, our new plant general manager, is one of those minds.

“I’m excited to add Stan to our team along with his understanding of the challenges and requirements of ramping up production at a new plant, including training staff, meeting timeline expectations and maintaining high quality standards,” said Mark Porter in a memo to the employees of STF.

Scott, who most recently served as the general manager at a Seaboard Foods pork processing plant in Guymon, Oklahoma, joins the STF executive leadership team with a keen eye for plant efficiencies, customer service metrics, and premium pork production. His first day was November 20th, 2017.

"I’m looking forward to bringing over 37 years of experience to Seaboard Triumph Foods. 20 of those years were actually with Seaboard Foods," he said. “I’m excited to join such a strong team of people dedicated to delivering a high quality product to our consumers.”

Since his background includes new plant start-up experience, Scott is uniquely positioned to incorporate our teamwork and excellence values into the hiring strategy for the next six months. By mid-year, STF will have grown to almost 2,000 employees who are dedicated to maximizing value to customers, clients, and the company as a whole.

Scott’s first order of business, other than acclimating to northwest Iowa winters, is to start turning the wheels for second shift deployment. As the STF Sioux City General Manager, Stan is responsible for all plant production operations, shipping, sanitation and employee safety.

Cold weather or impressive workload, he doesn’t seem fazed by either.

"My wife is actually from Sioux Falls, South Dakota,” adds Scott. “The move from Guymon, Oklahoma to Sioux City was a great transition for us. She gets to be closer to her family, and I get to continue doing the job I love."

When he’s not in his office or walking the production floor, Stan Scott enjoys hunting, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
