Mark Porter
Chief Operating Officer

Mark joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in February, 2016. 

Mark comes with a wealth of pork and broader food industry experience. His most recent assignment has been vice president, operations with AdvancePierre Foods in Enid, Oklahoma, where he was responsible for the manufacturing network across the country. Porter’s prior professional experience includes operational roles with well-respected food companies and eight years in the U. S. Navy as a Submarine Operations Officer.

Neil Puetz
Director of Maintenance and Engineering

Neil’s career in protein processing extends back to 1987. His focus in pork processing began in 1994 when he started at Sioux-Preme Packing in Sioux Center, Iowa. In 1998, Neil joined IBP in Waterloo, Iowa as a Maintenance Supervisor where he learned a new management style that taught him how to get results. Success in that role quickly earned him a promotion to Assistant Plant Engineer.  Neil was also facilitator of the Achieve Global Frontline Management program for a department of 23 management personnel. His objective was to get all of his management team to the next level in their respective careers.  

In 2008, Neil moved his family to Plattsburg, Missouri to work as Plant Engineer in the new Triumph Foods facility.  There, Neil focused on developing his team.   The resulting success created the opportunity for Neil to move into a new role with a new company, Seaboard Triumph Foods.

At STF, Neil plans to once again focus on individual developmental while starting up one of the newest and most innovative pork plants in the United States back here at home in Northwest Iowa.


DAVID (DAVE) CARY
DIRECTOR OF HOG PROCUREMENT

Dave joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in March 2016.

Dave has over 36 years of experience in the Swine Industry. While most of it is in Procurement, Dave spent five years specializing in Risk Management philosophies, strategies and execution. What excites Dave most is building partnerships with producers to maximize the value of the partnership to them as well as to the processing facility.

When asked what is important to him Dave said, “Choosing your attitude and Making a difference for someone every day”.


Max England
Director of Continuous Improvement and Analytics

Max joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in August, 2016. 

Having been part of the industry since 2000, Max has held roles with Seaboard Foods (R&D Project Manager), Cargill Pork (R&D Leadership and Operations), and JBS (Yield Manager).  Growing up on a farm in Northern Illinois and working at the Meat Science Laboratory during college cultivated his passion for the meat industry.  Max holds a B.S. in Animal Science and an M.S. in Meat Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana.


Brian DeSchepper
Director of Operations

Brian joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in August, 2016.

Brian has worked in the Pork industry for the past 26 years. He started out on the production floor boning loins then promoted into Quality Assurance and progressed up to being the Quality Assurance manager for a large plant. Next, Brian joined operations as the Asst Plant Manager and learned to run a large plant.   Soon Brian was promoted to the General Manager of a smaller processing plant and then a large harvest and processing plant. Brian is excited to be part of Seaboard Triumph Foods with its state-of-the-art plant in Sioux City, IA.

Brian is married with 3 children. He enjoys spending time with family, working on church activities and spending time outdoors.  His hobbies include hunting, fishing and raising pheasants to release into the wild.


Irving Jensen
Director of Communications, Community Relations, and Government Affairs

Irving joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in March, 2016.

Irving has a long history of executive positions in manufacturing, construction, logistics and financial sectors. He most recently served as vice president of plastic products and internal consulting for the Atlanta-based First Data Corporation.

Prior to that, Irving served as president and CEO of the Sioux City-based Jebro, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor in the downstream petroleum industry.   Irving was with Jebro for nearly 30 years!

Irving says he is thrilled to return to Sioux City and join Seaboard Triumph Foods. “Sioux City has a tremendous history in food processing and other ag-related businesses. It’s a history to be proud of,” he said.


Bridey Hayes
Director of Human Resources

Bridey joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in May, 2016. 

A graduate of Kansas State University, Bridey put her major in Human Resources Management to work, holding positions with Cargill’s meat division, ConAgra Foods, and the City of Sioux City over the past 18 years before joining STF.  A generalist at heart, her favorite thing about working in Human Resources is the variety that each day brings and the opportunity to have a positive impact on employees as well as the business. 

Bridey and her husband have three children.   In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and cheering on her children’s sports teams.


Ricardo Romero
Information Technology (I.T.) Manager

Ricardo joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in October 2016.

Ricardo’s years of experience and passion for IT, networking, and technical support and management made him the ideal candidate for the IT Manager position with STF. He has experience in leadership roles, troubleshooting, technical planning and maintaining proper security standards, to name just a few.

Ricardo and his wife Katie have three children; Mya (10), Isaiah (8), and Ava (6). His family enjoys camping and boating, and watching the children participate in football, soccer, baseball, and dance. Ricardo is also an Iowa Hawkeye fan.


Kirsten Wynn
Recruiting Manager

Kirsten joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in Jul, 2016.

Kirsten, a Sioux City native, has joined our team after 18 years in Human Resources with the City of Sioux City, with a focus on recruitment and hiring. Kirsten has an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from the American Institute of Business.

Kirsten is married with two children.   The family enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle, camping, golfing and any other outdoor activity including watching their children’s sporting events.


Andrew (Andy) Schroeder
Utilities Superintendent

Andy joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in September, 2016.

Andy’s eleven years of experience in management and leadership roles in the ever changing utility fields through the US Navy and Industrial Food Industry led him to Seaboard Triumph Foods. Over the years Andy developed many different areas of expertise through hands-on experience, training and teaching in different areas of Boiler, Refrigeration, HVAC, and Plant Air systems.  He is looking forward to being part of the STF team at the early stages and beyond.

Andy and his wife have two children ages 4 and 3.  In his free time he enjoys time with his family, hunting, fishing, and watching or playing just about any sport. 


Laurie Kuchera
Executive Administrative Assistant

Laurie joined Seaboard Triumph Foods in June 2016.

Laurie has a wealth of administrative experience since moving to Sioux City, having spent nine years as an administrative assistant in education and a year with WIC at Siouxland District Health. She has also worked as a Director of Sales in the hospitality field. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Public Relations and Journalism.

Laurie and her husband have been married for 30 years. Together they have three children and two grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, reading, painting, and watching Iowa Hawkeye sports.
