STF Teams Up with Iowa Pork Producers Association to Say 'Thank You'

Through an unpredictable and challenging 2020, continuing to feed the world was a large feat that would not have been possible without the quality pork raised from local Iowa producers, and the support and employees from the Siouxland area.

STF is pleased to have had the opportunity to team up with the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA), the mayor of Sioux City, the Chamber of Commerce, and local non-profits like the Food Bank of Siouxland to say ‘thank you’, to healthcare workers, grocery stores, firefighters, the community, and local producers.

Beginning with a ceremony at the Exposition Center in Sioux City on Wednesday, April 28th, STF was thankful to hear how highly the food industry in Siouxland was spoken about by city leaders.

“This is the industry that our community is most known for, agriculture business and food processing,” the President of Chamber of Commerce, Chris McGowan said. “Literally thousands and thousands and thousands of people are employed by these industries, and we don’t just feed our community, we literally feed the world.”

The STF Director of Hog Procurement also got to take the podium to say ‘thank you’.

Following the ceremony, STF helped IPPA hand out pork snack-sticks and coupons to firefighters, healthcare workers and grocery stores, as well as over 1,000 Prairie Fresh pork loins to the Siouxland community through a drive-thru in the parking lot of the Explorer’s baseball field.
