With over 14 years of experience in the meat processing industry, Shullu has built a career defined by hard work and leadership. Starting as a knife operator at JBS in 2010, Shullu quickly rose through the ranks to become a supervisor, mastering the Loin Boning Department and eventually serving as Superintendent, overseeing operations like ham boning, value-added, and trim blend.
In 2022, Shullu brought his expertise to Smithfield in Altoona, leading the Ham Boning and Shipping Departments until the plant’s closure in 2024. Opting not to relocate, Shullu joined STF in July, drawn to the company’s welcoming culture, supportive team, and new challenges. So far, the experience has been exceptional, and Shullu enjoys working alongside a dedicated team.
Shullu shares, “Hard work creates opportunities. I started on the line, so I understand firsthand what it takes to succeed.”
Originally from Eritrea, Shullu is fluent in four languages—English, Arabic, Tigrigna, and Kunama—and is deeply committed to family and community. Shullu’s greatest inspiration comes from his daughters, who motivate him to strive for excellence in every role. His journey is a testament to resilience, determination, and a passion for growth.
