STF's Manager in Training Program
Nominated by her supervisor to be a part of the program, Georgina began her time as one of the first Managers in Training in October of 2020.
Built with a growth mindset, this program provides knowledge and training to current STF employees who are driven to be, and do, more.
As of September, 2021, she will have been with STF for four years! Since starting, she has been a parts room clerk, FSQA Technician, Master Technician, and now a Manager in Training.
During this six-month long program, she has been training alongside with supervisors throughout our entire fresh pork-processing plan. From the stockyards to the harvest floor, cut floor, conversion floor, packaging, shipping, rendering, waste water, health services, human resources, safety, payroll, and recruiting, she really has seen it all. More specifically, her duties have involved overseeing the part-time employees at STF and acting as their supervisor, as well as running head-boning.
But, her favorite part was the connections that she was able to build with people from all areas of the plant.
“Learning is an everyday process, however shipping and rendering have been the most enlightening for me. Now, I have more of an understanding of the entire process and flow,” said Georgina.
Her piece of advice to others? “Do it!”
One of the many great things about this program is that it allows you to view multiple different leadership styles, collect tips, and then make it all your own as you progress in your leadership career at STF.
After finishing the program, Georgina is planning on furthering her career in leadership, hopefully in a management position, to then continue going up from there.
