The First 30 Days as a Rotational Graduate at STF.
As the first ever participants in the Rotational Graduate program at Seaboard Triumph Foods, we’re taking an inside look at their first 30 days inside our fresh pork-processing plant.
During a six month rotation, the Rotational Graduates will be submersed into every aspect of our top-quality pork processing business. From accounting to the stockyards, and from training to operations, it’s a one-of-a-kind experience that allows them to do it all.
While their time will be filled to the brim with learning, these graduates also get to participate in and lead active problem solving.
Meet the Rotational Graduates:
What’s it like being a Rotational Graduate?
Q: How did you feel on your first day?
A: “On my first day I was very nervous and was just hoping my past four years of education has prepared me to do this job effectively. After settling in and meeting all the people I will be working with, I was very supported and reassured that my supervisors would be there to help me along the way and show me the ropes.” - Anamarie
Q: What are some of the things you’ve had the opportunity to do so far?
A: “Stockyards, Human Resources, work with the union, Health Services, Safety, Recruiting, and benefits.” -Nicholas
Q: What has surprised you the most and why?”
A: “I think the amount of communication was the most surprising to me. I understood that communication is an essential part of any business but did not realize the scale in which it is needed to have a company operate efficiently and effectively.” - Tim
Q: What has been the most interesting thing you have learned so far?
A: “How Human Resources uses reports.” -Nicholas
Q: What has been your favorite thing to do so far? Why?
A: “My favorite thing so far is getting to meet and work by all of the other employees. ” -Joseph
Q: Has there been any learning curves?
A: “I have learned that there will always be learning curves wherever you go. However, everyone at STF is willing to answer any questions I have or find somebody that can answer them. I am not afraid to ask any questions because the person I am asking always helps to educate me on the processes they perform.” -Tim
Q: What is something you learned in college that you have been able to apply here?
A: “In most of my animal classes we talked about animal behavior and how high stress levels can affect the quality of meat production. Knowing that, I can better understand why all the Animal Welfare policies are in place and how they protect the animals.” -Anamarie
Q: How do you see this experience impacting your future?
A: “This experience is going to go a long way with all of the experience that I am gaining.” -Joseph
