ISU Extension and Outreach - Woodbury County receives naming gift from Seaboard Triumph Foods
Sioux City, Iowa (March 18, 2019) – Seaboard Triumph Foods (“STF”) has made a $15,000 donation to the learning kitchen at Iowa State University (“ISU”) Extension and Outreach – Woodbury County. The Seaboard Triumph Foods Learning Kitchen allows youth and adults to participate in nutrition education, canning and food preservation lessons, safe food handling training and more.
A ribbon cutting with the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce will be held at the ISU Extension and Outreach – Woodbury County office Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. to formally introduce the Seaboard Triumph Foods Learning Kitchen. Seaboard Triumph Foods and ISU Extension and Outreach personnel, including the president of Iowa State University, Dr. Wendy Wintersteen, will be on hand for this public unveiling at the new ISU Extension and Outreach building located at 4728 Southern Hills Drive in Sioux City. “We are very grateful for the generous support from Seaboard Triumph Foods as it gets us closer to our fundraising goal for Woodbury County Extension and ensures that low cost programming can be provided to the residents of Woodbury County and beyond,” said Molly Hewitt, County Director.
For 102 years, ISU Extension and Outreach – Woodbury County has provided valuable education and services to thousands of people annually. ISU Extension and Outreach provides unbiased, research-based information to Iowans as the outreach component of Iowa State University. Programs are offered in the following areas: 4-H and Youth Development, Human Sciences programs for families, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Community and Economic Development.
