Celebrando Siouxland: A September Weekend of Community, Culture, and Connection

In September, Seaboard Triumph Foods was proud to participate in Celebrando Siouxland, the annual week-long festival hosted by Unity in Action that celebrates the cultural diversity of the Siouxland region and uplifts the Latino community. This year’s theme, Como La Flor, honored the legacy of Selena and highlighted the importance of unity, connection, and embracing all cultures.

We kicked off the weekend by taking part in the parade, walking alongside friends, neighbors, and team members. It was inspiring to see so many people come together, wave flags, and celebrate the vibrant heritage and contributions of the Latino community. The energy and excitement were contagious, and it reminded us of how important it is to connect, even in challenging times.

Later in the evening, we had the honor of sponsoring the Celebrando Siouxland movie theatre night, featuring a showing of Selena. Guests enjoyed the outdoor movie theatre experience while we served up delicious carnita tacos. Our amazing group of volunteers made the night even more special, helping with food service, greeting attendees, and ensuring everyone had a memorable experience. Their enthusiasm reflected the spirit of the festival: community, togetherness, and celebration.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us, whether walking in the parade, enjoying the outdoor movie night, or celebrating with friends and neighbors. It was a weekend filled with laughter, delicious food, cultural pride, and a strong sense of community. Being part of Celebrando Siouxland was a reminder of the joy and unity that comes from embracing diversity, and we’re thrilled to continue supporting events that strengthen the bonds that make Siouxland such a special place.
