Black History Month: Employee Spotlights

Each February, we come together to recognize Black History Month, a time dedicated to honoring the achievements, contributions, and enduring legacy of Black individuals throughout history. But beyond its place on the calendar, this month carries deep meaning within our organization. It gives us space to reflect, listen, learn, and highlight the voices of the incredible employees who strengthen our workplace every day.

This year, we celebrated Black History Month through a special employee spotlight series, sharing one story every Monday. Four team members: Lacy, Javone, Derrick, and Kyra, courageously shared their experiences, perspectives, and personal reflections. Their stories offered us something invaluable: a window into their journeys, their identities, and the ways Black history continues to shape their lives today.

Each spotlight reminded us that representation matters. Every voice shared added depth and understanding to our workplace culture, helping us see this month not just as a celebration of history but as an ongoing commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging. For many of our employees, Black History Month is a time to honor resilience, recognize progress, reflect on challenges, and uplift the community. For others, it’s a chance to learn from colleagues and deepen the respect we have for one another.

By amplifying the voices of Lacy, Javone, Derrick, and Kyra, we not only honored Black History Month, we strengthened our culture of understanding and connection. We are grateful for their willingness to share their stories with us and contribute to a workplace where every team member feels seen, valued, and heard.

Thank you to each of them for helping us celebrate this important month in such a meaningful way. Their words will continue to inspire us long after February has passed, reminding us that honoring Black history is not a once‑a‑year effort, it's a year‑round commitment.
